Seasonal League

Seasonal leagues are a great way for all tennis players to have fun and challenge themselves on a regular basis. The first league commenced on April 2023 (Autumn season) Since then, we have a new league beginning at the start of every season. Ladies and Gentlemen will compete in different draws.

Location: Mills Park Tennis club, 4X Stratford Cl, Asquith NSW 2077 

Day/Time: Fridays 7:30 to 9:30 PM

1. League kicks off date and location will be announced prior to each new season.

2. Depending on level of players, Ladies and Gentlemen can be grouped in the same league division.

3. Players must pay the full fee for the league prior to the kick off.

4. Each player must be on time to be present for their matches.

5. Default match format is best of 2 sets, normal deuce, in case of 1-1, super tie breaker (10 point) will decide the match.

6. If in doubt, both players must give the benefit of any doubt to his/her opponent, in particular regarding line calls.

7. There is no "replay" for finished scores, except something happens from outside the game, affecting the score, Example: ball drops into court from other courts.

8. When a player wins a match 2-0, he/she will get 3 points. If a player wins 2-1, they will get 2 points, and the opponent gets 1.

9. If a player is unable to be present for their match, if the opponent agrees they must organise a match outside league date/time and complete the match. In this case, court hire and game balls is players' responsibility. Last date to play outstanding matches will be the last Wednesday before the ending of that season league. Each player can reschedule their match only 2 times during the league. Any more, will result in a loss of 2-0.

10. Before your match, if players prefer, they can have a referee or supervisor, only if both players consent. In this case, players will nominate and organize a referee for their match.

11. Friends and family members are more than welcome to join the match as spectators. However, for the safety of spectators and players, spectators shouldn't walk, move, or speak during the game and not allowed to call the points.

12.  A player has the option to take a forfeit from the opponent when that player:

a. Doesn’t show up for the match.

b. Does not give minimum of 1 hour notice for late arrival. 

c. Shows up more than 15 minutes late without notice.

d. Doesn’t give 6 hours’ notice for match cancellations.

*** Repeated offenses may be subject to removal from the League. There is no refund for un-played matches.

*** Player taking the forfeit/default win posts the score simply as: 6-0, 6-0 which will reflect a win by forfeit/default.

13. In case of “Retirement” (due to injury, or any other reason), the result will be recorded as a loss for the retired player, regardless of the scores:

- In case of retirement, retired player’s score will be counted.

- In case of not attending the match, the result will be counted for the other player as 6-0, 6-0

14.  If a match does not complete by the end of 2 hours, one of the following options are available if both players agree:

a.  If any court is available, players will continue to finish their match on the same night max till 10 pm. Also outstanding match can be played during league night but has to be finished by 10 pm.

b. Players continue and finish the match on another date before the next week matches. court hire is players responsibility.

15.   Each week, number of Points, match played, won matches, won sets, lost sets, set difference, won games, lost games and game difference will be recorded and announced. All this numbers will be taken to account for the result of each season. In case of two players have the same results, head-to-head match will be considered.

16.   At the end of each season, bottom players of top league might be relegated to next lower League.

17.  At the end of each season, top players of lower league might be promoted to next higher League.
